I did not follow Football that much in 2001 and 2002, anyway, overall, why did the Raiders organization get rid of Jon Gruden in the first place?

We may be losing the bowl bid, but we’re losing something even more important: Bill Callahan.

Just think: within a week he’ll be job searching and all the open jobs will shut the door in his face. He’ll always be known as the man who ruined the (arguably) greatest football program ever. He’ll end up in some back water college where no one cares about football.
And he’ll have to live with the idea that he was once a NFL professional football coach who fell to become someone no one will want ruining their program.

To all you bowl bidders: GOOD LUCK, and sorry we couldn’t be there to join you. Or should i say ‘beat you’ ;)

To Bill Callahan: you’ve ruined two great football programs. You ignored suggestions of improvement, took away the aspects that were successful and, the mortal sin of nebraska, called Tom Osborne bad names. Good luck. You’ll need it.
